The American president and VP Vance bully President Zelensky of the Ukraine!
“Both are psychopaths with severe dark triad traits. Orange guy is a megalomaniac, narcissistic baffoon, heavily traumatized by his family (read a biography written by his niece Mary L. Trump “Too much, never enough” was the title, I believe). Plus, he is probably a russian asset or, at least, so called “useful idiot” for them. Elon Musk is an autistic psychopath, severely emotionally traumatized by his POS father, with more wealth than any of us can imagine at his disposal.”
This was shared in a Psychology Talk forum.
“Trump likely has a personality disorder that could potentially benefit from longitudinal intensive psychotherapy. His failure to address his own mental health has made him a more dangerous leader.
Likewise, every time of one of Trump’s followers fails to address their mental health challenges, it adds kindling to the MAGA fire.
If you choose not to seek out clients/patients in the MAGA movement, go ahead. I personally wouldn’t recommend that approach, because I suspect you’d be depriving yourself of opportunities to do societal good and learn more about yourself as a therapist. But it’s your choice.
But if you’re actively refusing to treat them, then you’re perpetuating the problem as much as anyone. You’re basically blocking the fire department from access to that same MAGA fire. It’s stupidly unproductive and narrow-minded. And beyond that, you’re doing a disservice to all of psychotherapy, especially yourself.
I say this as a bleeding heart Minnesota liberal who cried (like, bawled) when Paul Wellstone died. And also as a psychotherpist who has had multiple fruitful psychotherapy client-therapist relationships with MAGA supporters. In fact, I’ve found these clients to be among the most fulfilling to work with. You will be able to foster trusting and empathy-based client-therapist relationships with these individuals. Moreover, you’ll be able to do so while remaining genuine to your own political philosophies. This takes some effort, but so does any meaningful psychotherapy.”
